Yes, I said it only I didn't mean it in any explicit type of way. The title alone sounded catchy so why not. Just to clarify upfront, this blog while it's meant to be informative in it's true nature, we also want to make it real, and maybe even sometimes, perhaps a bit quirky and fun. The world is already too serious as is so, it is our hope that by reading our blogs, you might not only learn something new, but also engage with us.
Okay, so back to what I was saying ah, yes getting down and dirty. Do you remember Cinderella? Well, if you watched the movie growing up, than you probably remember how she cleaned.. on her hands and knees. Personally, I find when, getting down to floor level, scrubbing the floors (and using this process) it's almost foolproof when it comes to removing every dirty spot.
However, this type of cleaning is not ideal for everyone as some people may have bad knees, health issues or maybe they just don't want to get on-top of dirty floors and that is absolutely okay there is nothing wrong with that; you can still achieve a good clean by using a crevice tool. A little side note: before becoming a professional cleaner, I thought cleaning was just sweeping, moping, vacuuming and wiping down counters, washing dishes, doing laundry, emptying out the trash and dusting but no I was wrong. We as professional cleaners really do go the extra mile and damn right we absolutely should or else we shouldn't be calling ourselves a professional. But with that said, the Cinderella method of clean is not for all professionals either, so how do you get to those hard to reach spots?
We use cleaning tools! And one of our most frequently used cleaning tools is the crevice tool (shown in the image above). Crevice tools come in a variety of sizes, shapes and some have hard wire bristles, others have softer synthetic bristles or a pumice like texture to them etc. There are crevice tools for ovens, oven racks, pots, pans, tile, sink drains, toilets, tubs (and the list goes on.) There are short-handled, long-handled crevice tools and even some that have extenders for harder to reach spots, without the need of getting down on all fours.
We as professionals use these tools to get to those hard to reach spots that perhaps a rag, microfiber cloth or a paper-towel can not get to. Crevice tools are helpful in removing food, grease, stains, hard-water spots, sludge and so many other types of grime. After a crevice tool is used the next step is to spray your specific cleaning agent being used, let it sit for a few moments and then wipe it clean. And "Vola'!" Now, you are learning to clean those hard to reach spots, just like a pro! And this is how we get down to the Nitty-Gritty of Clean! If you haven't tried a crevice tool before, I highly suggest trying one, it might just make your life that much easier.
